Golden Girl Book Scholarship
The Washington, D.C. Metro Chapter established the Golden Girl Book Scholarships in 2005 to honor the service and legacy of three long standing members:
Gladys Crockett, C’34, Ida White, C’46, and Mae Wilson, C’47. Book scholarships are bestowed upon rising Spelman freshman from the
Washington, D.C. Area who meet certain criteria and attend the annual new student BBQ sponsored by the chapter.

Jane Hope Lyons Scholarship
The Washington, D.C. Metro Chapter awards the Jane Hope Lyons Scholarship to a DC area student chosen by Spelman College.
In 2010, we funded the scholarship in the amount of $1,500.

Loving Me Conference
The chapter puts on the Loving Me Conference for girls in grades 8 - 11 to teach them how to recognize and appreciate their unique beauty,
build sisterhood, use positive forms of expression, and develop their professionalism.
