On March 19, 2011, 105 young ladies converged on Luke Moore Academy to attend the 2nd Annual Loving Me Girls' Conference hosted by the
DC Metro Chapter. It was a day full of peace and love, enough to make a 70's flower child proud! (Check out the
program book).

The day opened with an ice breaker session led by our mistress of ceremonies, Milan Griffin, C'05.
The young ladies got to know each other and found out some of the things they had in common.

This year the workshops were directly related to our pillars, Beauty, Expression, Sisterhood, and Teamwork. Thank you to our faciliators for
creating workshops to fully engage the young ladies in exploring aspects of these topics that they aren't exposed to in their normal daily activities.

Our lunchtime keypnote speaker was Rane Sykes of WGPC. She encouranged the girls to find their passion, surround themselves with positive supportive people who
encourage them to do better, and to resist the fear that would block them from acheiving your goals.

The closing session was a panel of Spelman alumnae who talked about college, their Spelman experiences, and some of their life lessons.

Thanks to the alumnae, parents, and volunteers who helped make this day a success!

Special thanks to our corporate sponsor, BET and Brucetta Williams, C'88.
